In our communication capstone Course at the College of Charleston, we were assigned a community partner project. We were put igroups and asked to “partner” with a community organization, identify a need of that organization, and produce a media literacy-related project of plan to address that need. The project required a minimum of 15 hours per person.

The group I was in paired with Healing Species, an organization that uses rescued dogs to help teach classrooms of children how to act nonviolently and how to be an overall good person.

Our contact at healing species told us that what they needed was more social media output and help with the planning of their fundraiser on May 16, which will help to raise money and awareness for their new location in Charleston.

"Reflection" looks back on the project as I discuss what we could have done better.
